You know, sometimes it's great how predictable the universe can be. It's comforting, in a way.

For example, every time I step back and ask myself precisely why I'm such a bitch all the time, I can pretty much count on getting an "oh yeah" moment a relatively short while later, every single time. It usually goes something like this . . .

1. For whatever reason, or no reason in particular, I get all introspective. Deciding that an inordinate part of my bitchitude is a simple lack of social graces (truth: when it comes to interacting with people, especially strangers, part of me will always be an awkward junior high kid), I can't come up with any real reason for the rest of it, so I decide to ponder it for a bit and keep my eyes open and see what I can come up with.

2. Time passes, but not very much of it.

3. No more than twenty-four hours later (note: while I've never actually timed it with, you know, a stopwatch or anything, it does seem to me that it's usually more like twelve hours later if I don't stay home and have a Buffy marathon), some boy -- he may or may not be a complete stranger; lately, he is most likely someone who used to date me or one of my nearest & dearest -- will send a message or make a call or cross my path in person and do something so stupid that, really, he should consider himself lucky that I don't rip out his own intestines and use them to strangle him right then and there. He should, but of course he's too stupid.

So, there you have it: Part of my bitchitude is little more than self-defense against the stupid.

By the way, I'm not exactly feeling RAGE, or even rage, anymore. I am still more royally pissed off than I have been ever before in my whole entire life since April 28th. I'm seriously not seeing red or anything like that, but I do get a palpable urge to throw my phone through a window every time I check my voicemail.

In-ter-est-ing-ly, both of the boys who have pissed me off most recently have done so through Facebook. There's a pretty obvious reason I've been using it so much less.

Hi, Ryan. Random stranger friending you here because your journal is wonderful. That implies no obligation to friend back, as I am much less wonderful. But congratulations on dialing down the rage.:)

Well, come on now, OBVIOUSLY I will friend you back, since it's always flattering when a random stranger friends me for any reason (if their reason happens to be that they find my journal "wonderful," well, that's just crunchy toast), you're not really a completely random stranger if you're friends with Jeremy (who was a very close relative to the Original LJ Fam), and . . . well, why not?

(We can fight about who is actually "much less wonderful" than whom later.) (I'm not sure if I used "whom" correctly just now; I really ought to go buy an English textbook and read it just for fun.)

And the RAGE would come springing right back if I were to actually see either of the boys who caused it, but I'll still take that congratulations and keep it in my pocket!

Oh, you are going to be fun! I suspected as much when I saw that a number of your userpics involved Calvin and Hobbes. Mine largely revolve around the geeky adorableness that is Thom Bray in all his forms. (Yes, I'm a fangirl. Riptide is my disease; pretty boys in tight shorts are the cure.)

Because I am also a geek, I can tell you that you did use whom correctly. Having read many books on the subject, I enjoy being a little know it all, and if I can encourage others in their grammar along the way--well, that's sugared toast to me.:)

Good luck with the RAGE. I have to live with the person who inspires mine (I have an arch-nemesis! In my house!), and it leads to many (too many?) vengeful journal entries. But that's what the internet's for, nicht wahr? To spread the RAGE, and the wonderful.

You know, I think you're going to be fun, too.

Sadly, I'm completely unfamiliar with both Thom Bray and Riptide. Sounds like I should get a little familiar sometime soon.

Wait, I thought the Internet was for porn?

Oh, and I feel your pain about living with an arch-nemesis, but I was greatly amused by the "to many"/"too many" thing. That's the sort of geek I am.

Porn also, yes. For me, that's where the Riptide comes in. coughpier56cough We're a nasty little group of girls over there. And the episode screencaps highlight the shorts.
